Earl Colclasure, age 83, of rural Vienna, IL passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 25, 1926, in Xenia, IL the son of to Earl and Electa (Storey) Colclasure.
Earl answered the call of this nation by serving in the United States Army in Central Europe during WW II as an MP with the 4th Infantry Division. After his period of faithful service he was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Private First Class.
Earl was first united in marriage to Mildred (Sznajdrowicz) on April 25, 1952 in Chicago, IL and together they shared nearly forty-four years of marriage until her death came on April 13, 1996. He later was united in marriage to Dorothy (Denley) Ferguson on June 8, 1996 at his home at the Lake of Egypt, and together they have shared the last thirteen years of marriage.
He lived for many years in the Chicago area and the majority of his working career was in the construction field as a large crane operator. After his retirement he and his first wife moved to Southern Illinois to the Lake of Egypt area.
Earl was a Mason, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and fifty plus year member of the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 150 of the Chicago area.
He and his wife, Dorothy, currently owned and operated “Longview Alpaca and Llama Farm” near Vienna, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Colclasure of Vienna, IL; adopted son, Kenny Colclasure of California; step son, John Ferguson and his wife, Ronda of Vienna, IL and sister, Marjorie Hieschberg of Huntley Park, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mildred and his brother, John.
Arrangements for Earl Colclasure were entrusted to the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court Street, of Marion, IL.
In accordance with his wishes his body was cremated and there were not any scheduled public services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial contributions made to “Hospice of Southern Illinois”. Memorial contributions were mailed in care of Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, P.O. Box 370, Marion, IL 62959.
