Cheryl Ann Kwasniewski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cheryl A. Kwasniewski, age 75, of Marion, IL, passed away peacefully at 11:05 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on Tuesday, November 5, 1946, in Marion, IL, the daughter of Therald Lynn and Johanna Lucille (McNamara) Shreve. Cheryl grew up in Marion and was a graduate of Marion High School Class of 1965. She continued her education and received her nursing degree from John A. College of Carterville, IL, and was a Trauma and Emergency Room Nurse for 38 years at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. She was united in marriage to George Kwasniewski in November of 1966, and together they shared over fifty-five years of marriage. She was raised in the Catholic faith and was strong in her beliefs. She always enjoyed caring for her family and her home, cooking and spending time with her family and in her spare time she loved to read, was known for her penmanship, was an avid crafter and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and making items for her family and friends. She loved her family and enjoyed the times they shared together and was always interested in hearing about their many activities. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her, and the memories created will be cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her husband, George Kwasniewski; daughter, Darlene Kwasniewski of Marion; three sons, Greg Kwasniewski, Brian Kwasniewski and his companion, Patty McGuire, and John Kwasniewski all of Marion; grandchildren, Meredith Kwasniewski, London Kwasniewski, Zach and his wife, Sarah Kwasniewski, Kassia Kwasniewski, Sophie Kwasniewski, Sierra Allgaier, Mariah Ryder and Tristan Kwasniewski; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Johnson, Zelman Johnson, Tino Johnson, Simon Kwasniewski, Amaya Peairs and Mason Kwasniewski and her sister, Debra Smith of West Frankfort, IL, other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathie Haney and brother, Robert Shreve. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL. The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home. Following the time of visitation, the funeral service held at 5:00 p.m., with Father Brian Barker presiding. Entombment will follow at a later date in the family mausoleum in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion, IL. For those who prefer, memorial contributions be made to “Shriners Hospital for Children” and or “St. Jude Children’s Hospital”.
