Cletis Craig Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cletis Craig Jr., age 55, of the rural Dykersburg-Stonefort area passed away suddenly at 5:55 p.m., on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his home. He was born on Friday, June 22, 1956, in Creal Springs, IL the son of Cletis Dwayne and Lorene Pearl (Conner) Craig. His working career was as a custodian at Jefferson Grade School of Marion, IL for 30 years until his retirement in 2007. He was of the Protestant faith. Cletis always enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid coon hunter and a member of the PKC Coon Hunters Association. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He is survived by his mother and step-father; Lorene and Harry Jackson of Creal Springs, IL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Hartley V. and Molly Craig of Princeton, IN and Dusty and Afton Criag of Poyen, AR; four grandchildren, Alexis Craig of Princeton, IN, Sean Craig of Poyen, AR, Braelee Risee of Princeton, IN and Tanner Craig of Princeton, IN; sister, Pat Smith of Creal Springs, IL; six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Cecil Craig of Marion, IL, Dennis and Kathy Craig of Parker City, IL, Leonard and Linda Craig of Parker City, IL, Harvey Craig of Carrier Mills, IL, Ronnie and Lori Craig of Sabbona, IL and Donnie Craig of Harrisburg, IL; sister-in-law, Gayla Craig of Creal Springs, IL; two step brothers, Dave Jackson and his wife Karen of DuQuoin, IL and Dwayne Jackson and his wife, Rebecca of Herrin, IL, several nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Cletis Dwayne Craig in 1978 and brother, Danny Craig on July 10, 2008. Arrangements for Cletis Craig Jr. were entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court Street, of Marion, IL. A time of visitation for family and friends was on Sunday, March 11, 2012, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home. Following the time of visitation the funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Bill Brandstatter presiding. During the time of visitation a “Reflection of Life” DVD Memorial Tribute featuring special people, places and events of Cletis’s life was presented to the family and friends. The prelude and postlude musical selections were recorded piano selections. Special recorded vocal musical selections presented during the service were “Wings of a Dove” by Terence McLeod, “Amazing Grace” by Elvis Presley and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill. Pallbearers were Dennis Craig, Harvey Craig, Donnie Craig, Leonard Craig, Ronnie Craig and Dave Jackson. Interment followed in the Creal Springs Cemetery of Creal Springs, IL. After the committal service at the cemetery the family and friends gathered at the home of Cletis’ mother and step father for a meal and continued time of fellowship and support. Memorial contributions were made to the “American Red Cross” to be used for the Harrisburg, IL relief efforts.
