Dwayne Alan Evrard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dwayne A. Evrard, age 56, of Marion, IL passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 11:05 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016, in the Integrity Health Care Center of Marion. He was born on Monday, June 20, 1960, in Marion, the son of Noel and Wanda Louise (Ice) Evrard. His working career began with the City of Marion working at the Marion City Cemetery. After a period of time, he transferred to the Marion Water Department and worked as a meter reader for many years until his health forced him to retire. Dwayne was a member and enjoyed attending at Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church south of Marion. He loved outdoor activities; especially hiking through the Shawnee National Forest, Bell Smith Springs and Garden of the Gods State Park. These were among his favorite places to visit. He had a passion for fishing and deer hunting, which was obvious by the way he was always in anticipation of the hunting season and making sure he was prepared. Dwayne also had a love and appreciation for the older and finer things in life which was shown by the way he loved to search for and collect antiques, as well as every once and a while finding a piece of furniture that was in need of restoration. Dwayne loved his family and enjoyed the many times they gathered together. The many memories that were created will now be cherished by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving mother, Wanda L. Williams of Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Kim Evrard of Marion; sister and brother-in-law, Darla and Tim Broeking of Niceville, FL; four nieces and nephews, Lauren and Graham Broeking of Niceville, FL and Nicholas and Daelyn Evrard of Marion; two aunts, Dorothy Hilliard of Marion and LaWanda Ice of Cape Girardeau, MO; uncle, Charles Ice of Seattle, WA, other extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Noel Evrard; paternal grandparents, Frank and Virgie Evrard; maternal grandparents, Tom and Reba Ice and uncle, Gene Ice. Arrangements for Dwayne A. Evrard have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion, IL. The visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016, at the funeral home. Following the time of visitation the funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin McNeely presiding. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion. For those who prefer, memorial contributions may be made to “Hospice of Southern Illinois” and mailed in care of Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, P.O. Box 370, Marion, IL 62959.
