George Fredman

October 30, 1926 - February 1, 2007

George Fredman, age 80, of West Frankfort, IL, passed away in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale at 12:14 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2007. George, the son of Harry and Rebecca (Fredman) Friedman was born, October 30, 1926, in Des Moines, IA. George was united in marriage to Edna Evelovitz, August 19, 1951, in St. Louis, MO. George served in the United States Army as a Medical Technician in Japan and was discharged, April 29, 1947. After being discharged he returned to Southern Illinois and became involved in Fredman Furniture and continued in Bryan Furniture in West Frankfort for the last fifty years. He loved the furniture business, and daily working with his customers. He is survived by his wife, Edna Fredman of Marion, IL; two sons, one daughter; five grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Goldie and Melvin Baldinger and Bess Shutzberg all of Boca Raton, FL; special friend, Jeannie Urich of West Frankfort, IL; several nieces and nephews; other extended family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Al, Avery & Joseph Fredman. Arrangements for George Fredman were entrusted to the Berger Memorial Chapel in St. Louis, MO. The graveside service for George Fredman was held at 11:00 a. m. Sunday, February 4, 2007, in Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery at 650 White Rd. in Chesterfield, MO. Those wishing to attend the graveside service gathered at the cemetery prior to the time of the service. Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home of Marion was in charge of local arrangements.
