Margaret Elizabeth “Betty” Shively, age 81, of Marion, IL, passed away at 3:11 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Herrin Hospital of Herrin, IL. She was born on Friday, March 24, 1933, at home in Marion, IL the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Cassidy) Barham. Betty attended school in Marion and was a graduate of Marion High School. Her working career was for over 30 years as manager for the WGGH Radio Station in Marion, IL and the WJPF Radio Station in Herrin, IL until her retirement at the age of 62. She was a faithful member of Abundant Life Assembly Church in Marion, IL. Betty is survived by two daughters, Debbie Woodhall and Kimberly Borders; son, Chuck Shively; grandchildren, Christopher Rosenbarger, Alan Lee Shively, Ashley Melvin, Joseph Woodhall, Danny Woodhall, Bianca Woodhall, Joshua Woodhall and Blake Marshall; great grandchildren, Maurice Shively, Brock Shively, Blake Shively, Noah Woodhall, Christian Woodhall and Kade Woodhall; sister, Frances Ozment; cousin, Bill Travelstead; former husband, M.A. Shively D.D.S., other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Allen Shively and daughter, Cathy Elizabeth Shively. Arrangements for Margaret Elizabeth “Betty” Shively were entrusted to the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court Street, Marion, IL. A private family time of visitation was on Thursday, May 8th from 1:00 p.m. until 1:40 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmy Russell concluding the time with comments and prayer. Following the time of family visitation and in accordance with her wishes, a private family committal service was at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in New Barham Cemetery of Marion, IL with Pastor Kevin Holiday presiding. At the cemetery a special vocal selection "I Can Only Imagine" was presented by Marsha Byas with recorded accompaniment. For those who prefer, memorial gifts were made to “Hospice of Southern Illinois”. Memorial contribution envelopes were mailed in care of Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, P.O.
