Robin C. Rodgers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robin C. Rodgers, age 68, of Marion, IL, passed away peacefully with her family near at 4:58 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Integrity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Marion, IL. She was born in Melrose Park, IL, on July 27, 1953, the daughter of Roy Laverne and Esther Louise (Howell) Rich. Robin attended school in Marion, and was a graduate of Marion High School Class of 1971. She was united in marriage to Randall Lee Rodgers on July 4, 2000, in Randy’s grandmother’s home, located northwest of Marion, and together they have shared nearly 22 years of marriage. Her working career began with General Telephone Company of Marion, as a telephone operator and receptionist. She later worked for WDDD Radio of Marion, as a receptionist and later for the Illinois Center Mall as a receptionist. She last worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Marion, as a Claims Adjuster until she retired in 2018. She was of the Pentecostal faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, was an avid NASCAR fan with her favorite driver being Carl Edwards in the #99 car, enjoyed watching many of the family shows on the Hallmark Television Channel and Figure Skating. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and working with artificial flowers having created many designs for weddings, proms and funerals. Her family was an important part of her life, and always enjoyed the many times they shared together and was always interested in knowing about all the many different activities going on in their lives, especially of her grandchildren. The many memories created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her husband, Randall L. “Randy” Rodgers of Marion; three children, Daniel Dees of Vancouver, WA, Derek Dees and wife, Erin of Herrin, IL and Randall L. Rodgers of Marion; two grandchildren, Rain Rodgers of Marion, and Samson Dees of Herrin, IL; great grandson, Calvin Jeramiah Rodgers of Marion; two brothers, Russell “Rusty” Rich and wife, Linda of Marion and Randy Rich and wife, Pat of Stonewall, MS; two sisters, Rhonda Rich of Marion and Renee Rich of Anna, IL; mother-in-law, Gail Rodgers of Marion; brother-in-law, Danny R. Rodgers of Marion, other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Edgar Lee Rodgers. Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL. The graveside committal service was at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion, with her brother, Rev. Russell “Rusty” Rich presiding. Comments of memory were presented by her brother, Randy Rich; her best friend, Sally Ward; cousins, Barbara (Rich) Jones, Crystal Hudgens and Carla Hudgens; friends, Teresa Johns and Oliver Pretty; sons, Derick and Daniel Dees; sister, Rhonda Rich and brother Russel “Rusty” Rich. Special recorded vocal musical selections presented during the service were “Spirit in the Sky” by Norman Greenbaum, “He’s Alive” by Dolly Parton and “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton. Pallbearers were Richard Rich, Steve Ward, Adam Johnson, Daniel Dees, Derek Dees, David Culp and Douglas Buck. Following the committal service, the family and friends gathered at Triple E BBQ Restaurant of Marion, for a meal and continued time of fellowship and support. The family requested for those who preferred, memorial contributions be made to; “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.” Memorial contributions were mailed in care of Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N.
