Wanda Jane Robinson

July 4, 1938 - October 4, 2021

Wanda J. Robinson, age 83, of rural Carbondale, IL, passed away peacefully at 1:25 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021, in Heartland Regional Medical Center of Marion, IL. She was born on Monday, July 4, 1938, at her home on Prosperity Road near Johnston City, IL, the daughter of Theron Doloris and Sarah Jane (Moake) Craig. Wanda attended school in Johnston City and was graduate of Johnston City High School Class of 1956. She was united in marriage to James William Robinson on Saturday, May 4, 1957, in Johnston City, IL, and together they have shared over 64 years of marriage. Wanda never worked outside of the home. She found enjoyment seeing to the needs of her family, managing her home and raising her two sons. She was a member of East Liberty Christian Church located southwest of Marion. She enjoyed attending church and being with all her friends, bible study and reading her bible. Wanda enjoyed living in the country, raising a garden and canning. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Montana where she had family ties, and camping. She enjoyed the many times the family would be together and was always interested in all of their many activities, especially those of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The many memories created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her husband, James W. Robinson of rural Carbondale; two sons and daughters-in-law, David W. and Cindy Robinson and Steve and Cindy Robinson all of Marion; four grandchildren, Todd R. Robinson and his wife, Tabitha of Marion, Greg S. Robinson and his wife, Mercedes of Marion, Hailee N. Robinson of Aiken, SC, and Kristina J. Cox of Marion, six great grandchildren, Michael R. Robinson, Aubree M. Robinson, Rylee F. Robinson, Emerson M. Robinson, Easton J. Robinson and Lory E. Cox all of Marion; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara S. and Jim Harvel of Marion; brother-in-law, Homer L. Robinson and his wife, Etta A. of Marion, other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Ronald Eugene Craig. Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL. The visitation was on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. During the time of visitation, a “Reflection of Life” DVD Tribute featuring special people, places and events in Wanda’s life was presented to the family and friends. Following the visitation, the funeral service was at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Darrell Wimberly presiding. Special recorded vocal musical selections presented during the service were; “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban, “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton and “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery of Marion, IL. Pallbearers were Dave Robinson, Steve Robinson, Ronnie Robinson, Todd Robinson, Rick Land and Greg Robinson.
